FastenMaster’s Cor­tex hid­den fas­ten­ing line, the industry’s most pop­u­lar hid­den deck fas­ten­ing sys­tem, is now avail­able in 12 new col­ors of col­lat­ed Cor­tex Plugs for Tim­berTech deck­ing col­ors in their Pre­mier, Reserve and Lega­cy lines. Pre-aligned and col­lat­ed Cor­tex Plugs have shown to be up to 50% faster in inde­pen­dent time stud­ies com­pared to loose plug instal­la­tion for improved job­site pro­duc­tiv­i­ty and time savings.

New Color Options for TimberTech Decking

The new col­lat­ed Cor­tex Plugs for com­pos­ite Tim­berTech deck­ing col­ors includes all the full pro­file deck col­ors includ­ing Ash­wood, Espres­so, Mocha, Pecan, Tiger­wood, White­wash Cedar, Antique Leather, Dark Roast, Drift­wood, Reclaimed Chest­nut, Dark Teak and Mar­itime Gray. In addi­tion, all Cor­tex Plugs are made from the same com­pos­ite mate­r­i­al as the deck to cre­ate a 100% per­fect col­or and tex­ture match and is war­rantied for the life of the project.

Efficient, Fast, and Reliable Installation

The new col­ors of Cor­tex Pugs are avail­able on col­lat­ed strips in 100 lin­ear feet (LF), and in bulk 300 square foot pack­ages. Each plas­tic water­tight pack­age includes enough fas­ten­ers and plugs to install the req­ui­site lin­ear or square footage of Tim­berTech deck­ing, assum­ing two fas­ten­ers installed 16-inch­es on cen­ter. In addi­tion, each pack­age includes a Cor­tex set tool — two in the 100 LF packs, and six in the 300 sq. ft. packs. 

Cor­tex fas­ten­ers are 2.5‑inches long (64 mm) and fea­ture a TORX® ttap® dri­ve sys­tem for supe­ri­or bit engage­ment and a sta­ble, wob­ble-free instal­la­tion expe­ri­ence. Plugs come with board grain pre-aligned so there’s no need to fum­ble with loose plug alignment.
